Yesterday,the VS track and field team went to the sister school of Victoria School for our training.The school is Cedar Girls Secondary School.Some of us went there by car togehter with our coach as our houses were near to his.As VS does not have a full 400m track,we had to go there to train as they have one.Some of us were there for the first time and the moment we stepped into the school,we were speechless.The school was really big and a lot bigger than VS.They have two tracks.One was about 200 to 300m long and the other was a full 400m one.We did not know where the full track was at first as it was kind of difficult to spot.We thought that we were going to train on the smaller track which was kind of pathetic for us.Some were like saying "we came all this way to train on this track?".But when our coach showed us the real track,we kept quiet and just walked there.They had a full 400m track which VS does not and they had so much undeveloped space which VS needs as we only have a 60m track.There were quite a number of people who went for training yesterday.We also had an old Victorian who is serving his National Service train with us.He had to go to some inter army competition.So,he decided to do some last minute training with us.His batch of Victorians was one that made the school proud by having all three sprinters in the finals of the 100m sprint in the Nationals.He was an inspiration to us to train harder and get into the finals like how his batch did.We would need all the points we can get in the Nationals in order to win the tilte.That day,we got the whole track to ourselves and because of that,all of us could do our own training without any disturbance.It was great training there as the wind was really strong and it was cooling.The only problem was that it was head wind and we would have to run against the strong wind.It was not only difficult,it was also more tiring than usual.After running,we had to do strengthening exercises that would build our leg muscles so tha we can run faster and endure the pain after hard training.We did two types of strengthening exercises.One focused on our legs and the other focuses on the whole body.At first,it was tiring doing all these exercises but when we get used to it,it is not so tiring at all.We only have a few months left before the Nationals and we are training really hard for it.Just hope we can win the title this year. by expertvillage from youtube
